Gulf Shores, Ala – February 10, 2012 – The City of Gulf Shores has announced that legendary star, Mitzi Gaynor has joined the 2012 Entertainment Series lineup. Gaynor will light up the Erie Meyer Civic Center stage on March 5 with an intimate evening of laughs, love and music with her show Razzle Dazzle! My Life Behind the Sequins.
This unforgettable love letter to a great era of show business is part concert, part autobiography – a glittering multimedia one woman tour-de-force of side-splitting stories and classic songs, along with stunning video footage culled from her television, concert and film work. Gaynor, an Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe nominated star reminisces on her celebrated career and intimate reflections from her personal relationships with costars including Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman and Marilyn Monroe to her romance with Howard Hughes and the joyous 52 year marriage to the love of her life, Hollywood producer Jack Bean.
The production, which recently completed an acclaimed two-week engagement in New York City, is scripted by Miss Gaynor and conceived and constructed by Emmy Award winning producers Rene Reyes and Shane Rosamonda and features six new, breathtaking costume creations by legendary fashion designer, Bob Mackie.

Gulf Shores, AL – September 1, 2011 - The City of Gulf Shores officially announces its lineup for the 2012 Entertainment Series. The Entertainment Series, now in its 25th year at the Erie Meyer Civic Center, has become an annual tradition for residents and visitors alike.
The 2012 Entertainment Series will feature 14 shows from eight different acts. Whether you like comedy and jazz or country and big bands, this year’s lineup has what you’re looking for.
On January 9 and 10, The Diamonds and The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra kick off the Entertainment Series with their non-stop, entertaining, musical revue, Jukebox Junction. From big band hits to doo-wop and rock and roll classics, this show has it all. The shows start at 7:30 pm each night and tickets will be $28.
January 16 and 17 brings the Dukes of Dixieland to the stage as they blow traditional jazz and Dixieland into the 21st Century, weaving strands of pop, gospel, and country with authentic New Orleans sounds. Having sold out venues like the Hollywood Bowl and The Smithsonian, these tickets won’t last long. Each show begins at 7:30 pm and tickets will be $26.
January 24 offers a one-night only performance from Grammy Award winner, Linda Davis, as she brings her show, Evening in the Round, to the stage. Having shared the stage with legendary artists such as Garth Brooks, George Strait, Kenny Rogers and Reba McEntire, this show is sure to be a “don’t miss”. The show will begin at 7:30 pm and tickets will be $26.
On February 6 and 7, we continue the Entertainment Series as In the Mood presents their retro 1940’s musical revue with singers, dancers and the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra. If you love the combination of the1940’s up-tempo, big band instrumentals and intimate, romantic ballads, this show is for you. Each of these shows will begin at 7:30 pm and tickets will be $28.
February 27 and 28 we welcome BJ Thomas and Billy Joe Royal to the stage as they present Raindrops and Boondocks. With numerous Top 40 hits, Grammy Awards and Gold and Platinum Records, Royal and Thomas continue to sell out venues across the world while performing hits like “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”. Each show begins at 7:30 pm and tickets will be $39.
March 3 and 4 brings Emmy Award winner, Cloris Leachman and her One Woman Show to the Erie Meyer Civic Center. Having starred on numerous television sitcoms including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Malcolm in the Middle and Raising Hope, as well as, recently competing on Dancing with the Stars, Leachman has enjoyed success throughout her career. Leachman’s One Woman Show has drawn rave reviews throughout the country and is sure to be wildly hilarious. The show on March 3 will begin at 7:30 pm, while March 4 will feature our first-ever Sunday matinee at 3:30 pm. Tickets to each show will be $39.
On March 6, Laughing with the Legends joins the stage for a one-night only performance. Laughing with the Legends, a multi-faceted performance features the husband and wife team of Brian and Joey Gurl as they keep fans on the edge of their seats anticipating what will happen next. Fans are sure to enjoy a night of laughter and excitement. This show will begin at 7:30 pm and tickets will be $25.
On March 10 and 11, we welcome the music of perennial favorites, Celebration Winds. This assortment of talented and dedicated musicians, from the Birmingham and Atlanta areas, will blow you away with their masterful interpretation of classical, pop and Broadway tunes. The show on March 10 will begin at 7:30 pm, while we round out the 2012 Entertainment Series with another Sunday matinee on March 11 at 3:30 pm. Tickets to each show will be $21.
