New York, NY - May 10, 2012 -

The New York based rock fusion group known as Tauk, will perform at this year's Hangout Music Festival Kick-Off Party in Gulf Shores, Alabama on Thursday, May 17th. For those who can't make it down to Hangout Fest, Tauk will also be playing The WorkPlay Theatre in Birmingham on Sunday, May 20th with support from Pyrite Parachute. The band announced recently they will join this year's Bonnaroo lineup as well. Tauk has scored opening gigs for O.A.R., MOE., Robert Randolph & the Family Band, 311, Tea Leaf Green, been featured on Fuse TV, and earned slots at top festivals like Gathering of the Vibes (alongside Buddy Guy and Bob Weir & RatDog) and upcoming gigs at the Bonnaroo, Summer Camp Music Fest, Great South Bay Music Fest and Peach Festival with The Allman Brothers.

Tauk is breaking into the national music scene with the release of their new EP, "Pull Factors." The band's sound is a unique blend of funk, jazz, pop, and rock with a fresh, experimental spirit that has already attracted an early DIY buzz. Legendary sound engineer, Dave Natale (Rolling StonesFleetwood Mac), invited Tauk into his studio in late 2011 to record "Pull Factors." The band then teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Robert Carranza (Jack JohnsonMars Volta) to harness the band's eclectic vision creating entirely instrumental new tracks. Download Tauk's new EP, "Pull Factors" for free, here: www.taukband.com

Since forming earlier this decade, Tauk is Charlie Dolan (Bass), Alric "A.C." Carter (Keyboard-Organ), Matt Jalbert (Guitar), and newest addition Isaac Teel joining in early 2012 (Drums). While their tunes are adventurous in scope, the band's origins are humble.  Dolan, Carter, and Jalbert met as teenagers in middle school and instantly connected over a shared passion for music. They continued to write songs and remained close friends while attending different colleges all over the country. Armed with degrees from some of the top music universities and conservatories in the nation, the band hit the road in the Fall of 2010, playing nearly 40 shows on a national tour with Robert Randolph and The Family Band, MOE., and other legendary acts.

Tauk puts equal energy into their live shows as they do their recordings. The unique chemistry and relaxed-focus of Tauk's performance is undeniable, but their ability to create immensely melodic and emotional music without a vocal lead is what is sure to captivate the ears of music lovers from across all genres. The future is certainly looking bright for this talented and ambitious quartet.

GULF SHORES/ORANGE BEACH, AL - The 41st Annual National Shrimp Festival Committee, chaired by Ron Kutter, is proud to unveil the 2012 Official Annual National Shrimp Festival Poster. This year's winning design was created by Keith White, a native of Shallotte, North Carolina.

The poster design contest is an annual tradition and in past years the winning design has not only been featured on the official poster sold at the festival, but elements of the art are also incorporated into other merchandise items including t-shirts, visors, and the like.

Keith is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta and the American College for the Applied Arts, earning his Bachelor's degree in commercial art. After living in Atlanta for eleven years and working as a computer graphic artist, Keith moved back home to Shallotte in 1998. Until 2003, Keith worked as a graphic artist at Kool-A-Brew in Calabash, North Carolina. Starting in early 2004, Keith began working for The Brunswick Beacon, a weekly newspaper focusing on local news and events for the southeast, North Carolina coast. Keith serves as both graphic artist in the Beacon's advertising department and the Beacon's editorial cartoonist. In addition to his time at the Beacon, Keith is a freelance artist specializing in business logos, t-shirt designs and art focusing on local scenery and surfing, a personal passion. Keith is no stranger to local festivals.

Throughout the year, Keith's art can be found at various community festivals on the southeast coast of North Carolina. Keith's art has been chosen as the official festival art for the Ocean Isle Beach Oyster Festival for the past three years.

The 2012 41st Annual Shrimp Festival will be held on the public beaches of Gulf Shores from October 11th thru October 14th.  And as the Festival boasts, there really is something for everyone!  The festival is a project of the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce.

It seems like every week the Amphitheater at The Wharf announces another great concert.  This week they announced Miranda Lambert with special guest Lee Brice and Thomas Rhett. The show will be held Saturday July 12, with tickets going on sale Friday May 4th at the Amphitheater Box Office and Ticketmaster.com.

Bio:

On the caution-vs.-candor scale, it's not hard to figure out where Miranda Lambert comes down. "I'm really not careful at all," she says. "I probably should be. I pretty much don't have anything to hide, though. I never hid anything growing up. My parents were PIs, so I really couldn't."

She may have become a songbird instead of snooper, but in her own fashion, Lambert is following in the family business, as a private investigator of the heart -- a trade she recommences with relish in her third album, Revolution. The 25-year-old star's biggest hits have tended to be her boldest songs, so she's not about to put a lid on her plain-spokenness now.

"I mean every word I say in every lyric of every song on this record, and every record I've ever done," she declares. "I would never take back one word or lyric or point I've ever made, because it's part of who I am. And there are plenty of artists who wouldn't do so much of that, if that's the kind of music you're into. But if you're into honesty, I have the records for you," she laughs.

In her most successful single to date, "Gunpowder and Lead," Lambert declared that some little girls are made less of sugar and spice than more combustible substances. And the title track of her 2005 platinum debut, Kerosene, established her in the country music firmament as a figuratively and maybe even literally incendiary personality. But it may be no mistake that the new album's title, Revolution, could be taken as similarly aggressive or just a simple pledge of personal reinvention.

"I'm a little more stable in my life, and not the crazy, wild-eyed kid that was writing 'Kerosene' at 18," she says. "I've been through a lot and grown up a lot on the road. And I've always kind of been a little older than my age anyway. I have the regular 25-year-old small town girl side to me that likes to make cupcakes and live on a farm, and then I have this rowdy, crazy, headbanging, rock-star-girl side that is my life on the road. I feel this record shows more a complete picture of who I am.

On one end of the gamut lies the hard-rocking, vengeful "Sin for a Sin," cowritten by Lambert with Blake Shelton, in which it sounds like there might be the hint of a homicide. "Maybe, maybe not," she laughs, refusing to commit to an interpretation. "It's basically about cheating, love gone wrong, and the death of something, whether it's love or a person... That's trademark Miranda -- the song on my record that most sounds like me from 'Kerosene' or 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.' Nobody really gets to live out all their fantasies; I just get to sing mine in songs."

At the other end of the Revolution-ary spectrum is the tender but still thoroughly realistic "Love Song," cowritten with Shelton and two members of Lady Antebellum. "A song called 'Love Song' I would never think would be on my record," she admits. "You know what I mean? Because I just don't sing songs like that. But this song is about real people in real love, not the fairy tale. And you know, I guess I've reached a point where, it's all right to maybe love somebody.
