The Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!) is paying homage to the role companion dogs and cats play in our lives with a full color 11” x 20” glossy 2012 professional calendar that will have 73 pictures (no advertisements) and include names of pets and owners.  For the calendar layout, photo entry form and contest rules and regulations, visit www.BaldwinHumane.org.

The public is invited to submit your dog or cat’s picture now until September 14; everyone whose picture appears will get one free calendar.  You can upload high resolution images on www.BaldwinHumane.org;  mail the picture to  PO Box 206, Fairhope, AL 36533 or bring the picture  to the BARC! office at 306 Magnolia Avenue in downtown Fairhope Monday through Thursday 9am to 4pm.

On the left side of the top page for each month are 2 medium-sized photos for a $125 donation each; it  will include the rescue story or a description of the photo. The bottom page for each month will have the calendar and will feature 3 smaller pictures for a $75 donation each.

One large-sized photo will appear on the top page for each month plus front cover (13 total).  Those 13 pictures are now posted on www.BaldwinHumane.org; they will vie for the front cover.  Voting will determine which becomes “Pet of the Year.” Preliminary voting is conducted online, by mail, by phone and at the BARC! office thru September  14.

Each vote is $1 and there is no limit to the number of votes a person can cast. Anyone who casts 20 or more votes between now and Sept 15, 2011, will get one free calendar.   Calendars are scheduled to arrive November 1.

Final voting will be in person at the Big Reveal party September  15 at the Flora-Bama from 6-9pm.  Admission is $5 or pet food donation to BARC!

All donations are tax deductible and go to BARC! rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming more dogs and cats.

BARC! is a no-kill adoption agency (rather than a shelter). They are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit established in 1979; they were the first and remain the only county-wide animal welfare agency.  Its goal is to eliminate the number of abused and abandoned pets through spay/neuter, education, rescue and adoption.

For more information, call/text Sonja Presley, BARC! Executive Director, at 251.233.1979
