Vacations are so much fun. If you are a beach lover and are planning a trip to the Gulf Shores, Alabama or Orange Beach, Alabama area, you are in for a treat. Those beaches are absolutely beautiful. Many of us love to travel in order to try out new and different restaurants.
Here are my three choices for restaurants you may want to visit while in Alabama. These are not your ordinary, run of the mill, burger joints. These three restaurants are unique, colorful, with tons of fun served right along with great food and drinks.
LuLu's at Homepoint Marina
Lulu's is a very popular restaurant in that area. What many people don't know is that the owner, Lucy, is Jimmy Buffet's sister. The call to fame at her restaurant is "redneck caviar". It sounds expensive doesn't it? Wrong, it's not really caviar. It is a dip made from black eyed peas. Lulu's is open daily for your enjoyment. Live music is also served up every day at Lulu’s. She has a very extensive drink menu too. Head on over to Lulu's, you may run into Jimmy Buffet there, you never know.
Desoto's Seafood Kitchen
This family style restaurant offers up generous servings of fresh seafood, steak or chicken. Whether you visit them for lunch or dinner, it won't take a big bite out of your food budget. Try their lunch or dinner specials. They also offer special prices for senior citizens. They are only a block away from the beach, so you may want to try them when hunger hits you!
Papa Rocco's Pizza
In business since 1985, Papa Rocco serves up more than just pizza. Papa has lunch specials, happy hour, live entertainment and a great menu available until midnight. He even has wifi available for all you hungry folks who can’t live without your computer. He has daily specials like a barbeque sandwich or blackened grouper served with rice and veggie for less than $6. With 8 television sets, you won’t miss any sports action while you down your raw oysters.
Head on down to the beautiful beaches of southern Alabama and check out these three restaurants. You won’t be disappointed! Remember, its five o’clock somewhere.
