Wednesday Savvy Shopper
(Gulf Shores)
Each and every Wednesday in your newspaper or mailbox, grocery stores are touting their weekly specials. I know it may make someone go running to the local store and pick up that discounted item. The question is, are you really saving money?
We decided to put together a steak dinner and see what the price differences really are. The menu is: Bone in Rib-eye, Baked Potato, Squash, Zucchini, Red Onion and Sister Schubert Dinner Rolls. Here is what we learned this week. Brunos came through with the lowest price for the items to be purchased ($15.74) Walmart second ($15.82) Winn Dixie third ($15.85) and Publix fourth at ($20.46) and if you shopped all four stores to get the cheapest price, your total would be ($13.96). *denotes on sale item
